  • Give the individual extra time when they are participating in a task.
  • It is important to help the person to participate in an activity without doing it for them e.g:
    • Guide their hand to help them to lift a cup from the table.
    • Name, locate and identify objects during daily activities e.g. “this is your toothbrush; you keep it by the sink”.
  • Provide objects and tools in specific colours to help with recognition i.e. use colour coding.
  • Make sure the environment is well lit.
  • Ensure the environment is uncluttered.
  • Keep things in the same place so they can be found.
