Give the individual extra time when they are participating in a task.
Show the individual the item to use and name it. Ask them to try to remember it for the next time.
Ensure the environment is uncluttered and well lit, and keep things in the same place so they can be found.
Encourage the individual to use vision when searching for items.
Lay items out in the order they will be used.
It is important to help the person to participate in an activity without doing it for them, e.g. guide their hand to lift a cup from the table or ask them to persevere with looking and finding something, don’t do it for them.
