Bowel dysfunction refers to problems with the frequency, consistency and/or ability to control bowel movements. Bowel dysfunction, including faecal incontinence, is frequently reported following neurological illness or injury.  These problems are common following a brain injury: ‘The frequency of faecal incontinence can be correlated to increase in severity of a brain injury’ (SIGN 130: Brain Injury Rehabilitation in Adults, A National Clinical guideline, 2013).258274403-man-with-toilet-paper
